Dear Poppy,
I thought I saw a light at the end of a dark tunnel, but then I realized it was Mummy's white hat flying over my head as we were keeling. They say that my kind are water dogs, but this weekend it was put to the test. We had a lovely leisurely sail out to a far away land called St. Michael's. It took forever to get there...8 hours! But, it was nice, I got to walk around the boat and sit on puppaw's lap and let the wind make my ears flap. We spent to night on the floaty house and it was great fun, because everyone loved me and four legs are allowed everywhere. We ate outside everyday, even in the pouring rain. I thought I was in heaven, until it turned into...that other place that two legs talk about H_LL!!!
The sail home only took four hours. That should be a good thing, shouldn't it? Well, let me tell you, when you are talking about the floaty house, it is NOT a good thing. I wanted so badly to be up top with Mummy and Puppaw and Mummy was holding on to me with all her might, but I just got so scared because we were all the way on one side of the floaty house and water was splashing everywhere. It was terrifying, Poppy. I had to run in and get as close to the ground as possible. Things were flying over head and that's when my short life flashed before my eyes. I remembered coming home for the first time on puppaw's lap and then mummy arriving home and going to the dog park and all my friends and then my dog bowl hit me on the head and I realized that the white light was only mummy's hat. But I am telling you, Poppy, it was a close call.
I look forward to forgetting it ever happened, as soon as the ground stops moving under my paws.
Lots of wet licks, Mugsy.
